Holding Hands

D and I have been together for seven years.  During about half of those years we went through really difficult times.  His mother died, we lost our house and pets to a horrible fire, became homeless, and we argued a lot, a lot of the time; over silly things.

It wasn’t until recently, after we moved into where we now live, that it dawned on me that I was the woman I didn’t want to be, when it comes to the relationship I have with the man I am spending my life with.  I was a nagging wife, I complained about the lack of help, or the way help was given.

I don’t know about you, but I do NOT want to be THAT woman!  I want D to be happy with our relationship, happy with our day to day life, and proud that I am the woman he wanted to be with him, and to be the mother of our beautiful children.

What kind of mother and wife are you?  What kind of mother and wife do you want to be?  How can you set that picture, that DESIRE into motion?  …My answer to you is simply:  Prayer, Sister!   You need to pray.  Pray for your husband, the one you have or the one you wish to have.  And pray for God to show you the woman He desires for you to be for your family and for your husband.

Proverbs 12:4 tells us that a virtuous woman is a CROWN to her husband. She is worth more to him than the diamonds and jewels that adorn a crown. It goes without saying, but I will anyway, a wife who crowns her husband…

C Cherishes her husband (Titus 2:4).

R Reverences her husband (Ephesians 5:33).

O Obeys her husband (Titus 2:5).

W Watches over her husband to do him good (Proverbs 31:11-12).

N Never nags her husband. (Proverbs 19:13; 21:9,19 and 27:15).
